Children's Ministry Q&A

Does Kids Nite Out run during the summer?
Kid's Nite Out typically does not run during the summer; June, July & August. However, we offer UB summer camps for a few weeks during this season. These camps are organized by volunteers from Roseville Church and other UB churches.
What happens in Sunday School?
The class will open with a memory verse. Over the course of a month, your child will be learning a verse from the Bible and if they are able to recite the verse at the end of the month, they will receive a prize. They will engage with a Bible story that aims to do two things: give your child some healthy ways of engaging with the world around them and learning something about what God is like. There will be songs, crafts, games, and activities that will all serve to help reinforce what they are learning in class. Each child will bring home a page that will help reinforce what they learned when they return home and give care-givers a sense of what they are learning.
Is Sunday School available during the summer months?
From July to August, we run a slightly different Sunday School program. Children from ages 3 to Grade 5 are combined into one fun Junior Church group. Our summer programming is designed to be a bit more relaxed for both kids and leaders—while still keeping things meaningful and enjoyable as we all enjoy the summer season together!
Can I sit with my child during Sunday School?
We completely understand that some parents or caregivers may want to stay with their child for the first few weeks to help everyone feel more comfortable — and that’s totally okay!

All of our Sunday School teachers have been pre-screened, including a Vulnerable Sector Check, to help ensure a safe environment for every child. If you’d like to continue staying in the classroom beyond those first visits, we kindly ask that you complete a similar screening process to help keep all children safe.

Thank you so much for your understanding!
What are Roseville Church's child protection policies?
All volunteers must complete a Vulnerable Sector Check and undergo Plan to Protect training before working with children.
We maintain proper adult-to-child ratios, and the children entrusted to us are always supervised and cared for to ensure they are safe while learning and having fun!

Why do we offer free children’s programming?
We offer free programs for children because we care deeply about our community and children. Our goal is to support families and provide a safe space where children can have fun, learn, and grow. We know that God loves us, and we want to share that love with others. Our children’s programming is one way we express that love. As it says in 1 John 4:19, "we love because He first loved us".
What if my child has special needs or requires additional support?
We want every child to feel welcome and included! If your child has specific needs, please reach out to us in advance so we can learn how to best support you and your child, and discuss whether our programs are a good fit.
